Every Saturday in Psyllinaki Street in Ierapetra operates the Local street market where local traditional products (oil, honey, Cretan herbs, wine, raki, cheese products, etc.), vegetables, fruit, fish and many other local products from local producers and around villages, are sold.

Explore Chrissi Island (Gaidouronisi)

Once the visitor comes in Chrissi Island, he becomes magnetized by the exotic natural landscape which is dominated by cedar trees, golden sand and turquoise waters.

The island hosts the most naturally formed Lebanese cedar forest in Europe. From mid-May to the end of October, there are daily boat services from the port of Ierapetra.

Every summer, in Ierapetra, from the middle of July to end of August, a number of Cultural, Sports, Cultural and Artistic events take place in the Kyrveia Festival.

Kyrveia is a diverse festival with theatrical performances, musical events, various exhibitions, sports events, local festivals with traditional music and products (raki, honey, etc.) which takes place in the city of Ierapetra and in the surrounding municipal districts and villages.

On Sunday of Great Carnival, with dance, songs, colorful imaginative costumes and wild parties are set up in the streets of Ierapetra!

Impressive chariots, thousands of young and old carnival participants and visitors from every corner of the county and the rest of the island, visit Ierapetra and dance to the rhythms of Carnival.
